Michelle's Purdy 30 Birthday Party

My best friend Michelle turned 30 this week and we decided to throw her a garden tea party. Always trying to come up with creative ways to throw a party. So this is my lovely attempt at a tea party.
This is a mirror that I painted with chalkboard paint. Makes a great sign or fun custom decor for the house.

We decided to make one long table and we hung cable over it. For hanging decor we found some white fabric and attached it to the cable along with four bud vases with wire.  To top it off I added one of my chandeliers (without the lightbulb). It was perfect!
We served cute tea cupcakes/cookies that looked like tea hats, zweibach, chicken salad sandwiches on raisin bread, cucumber sandwiches, and cookies.
Pretty sure most everyone loves chocolate dipped strawberries. I added sugar paper hearts for a little drama.
We had all of our guests wear tea hats. It just isn't a tea party without a tea hat!
We had a picture area with different hats, frames, and teacups. Michelle loves pictures so we had fun!

Spring/Summer Redecorating

So I am the kind of girl that likes to redecorate, but I hate spending money. So I took some things I had in my house and redecorated or rearranged to make them look more spring & summery.

This is a window that I had, and I just added a bright colored fabric to it. I used the same fabric in other areas of the house to tie everything together.

I purchased the "H" and the iron frame from Hobby Lobby. I added some twine with my fabric ties on it to hang the "H" in the middle.

Again with the windows I know, but I just love this verse above my piano.

These are windows that I had hanging for Christmas, but the other side is dark wood....so when you flip them they are white. I also added twine with my fabric ties connecting the two windows, and added some flowers where they connected.

Love my spring mantle. I bought huge blossom sprigs and put them in large cylinders, added some fun colored flowers with my white dishes.
This is a photo set up I have, but instead of Christmas sprigs I made some colorful flower arrangements.

This is a little set up we had for my new cousin Milia's wedding. I will admit it was her idea. She had it set up as a photo area......super cute!

My Dream Wedding

I have been in the wedding idea mood lately because my brother and my husbands cousin are getting married at my house. We have been throwing around all kinds of ideas and I came back to my wedding which was my dream wedding. I waited 7 years for it, but it was such a perfect day. I would love to share these with you. The photography is by Pearson Wedding Photography out of San Ramon California.

This is my husbands '59 Chevy. It was his girlfriend before me so I decided she needed to be part of the wedding.

Instead of a traditional guest book we had a window with our picture on it and had everyone sign white a white pen made for glass.

If you haven't guessed already my theme was windows. I found these old windows and added vinyl lettering and leaves. The leaves are from Uppercase Living and the "H" is from VinylLettering on Etsy.

I thought that this is a great spin on the ringbearer "pillow". It is a bible with fabric on it. The fabric leaves are cutom made by Jane Joss on Etsy.

Jane Joss on Etsy also made the leaves for our boutonnieres.

Jane Joss also made my bridesmaids bouquets. The bridesmaid dresses were from Anthropology and we got them on sale for $50.

One of my favorite pictures with my nieces. So cute!

Our wedding cake was in our gazebo. We added a simple chandelier and a window with a verse in vinyl lettering and fabric behind it. Our cake was designed by Christine Alves (www.cakechristine.com).

For our thank you cards we took pictures with this window. It is vinyl lettering from VinylLettering on Etsy.com.

Winter Decorating

Well I thought that I would spread the new year joy and show you a couple of my winter decorating ideas! I always like to keep my home looking wintry until February. So here are some of the latest decorations I put up for winter.

These are some vintage windows that I used for my wedding. I added vinyl leaves from Uppercase Living and winter accents from Hobby Lobby.
I wanted to mix up some of my frames so I thought that this would be an interesting mix up. The vinyl lettering is from Uppercase Living.
I love my windows! This one I took pictures of things in my house, and printed them in black and white. I just attached the pictures in the middle of the panes.
